Smuin's The Christmas Ballet San Jose Theatre reviews
big let down
Having the chance to see Smuin live in southern Louisiana was very exciting. It was a little let down to find out how strict he was about no alcohol sells after going on stage, no lawn seats, no cameras; it seemed like a dictatorship. The whole audience was put in a mood where they were scared to get up and dance or just have fun. We got stuck in traffic just trying to park, which was unusual for this venue. About 10 mins. late getting in, we missed his first three songs due to no opening act. He chose to play his greatest hits first instead of in the middle or as an encore like most performers would. The songs that you did not know well sounded like he was just mumbling the words, making them hard to understand. He never once addressed the audience, no hello, glad to be here, thanks for coming, etc. When he was done, he just walked off the stage without waving or anything to the audience. This is the worst performance I have ever attended. Will not return for another show of Smuin's The Christmas Ballet.
